Europe is expected to grow its share of the 2007 total of (projected) $155 billion. The United Kingdom is the largest single market for consumer electronics in Europe with annual sales in excess of 14.8 billion Euro, followed by Germany (13.1 billion Euro) and France (10 billion Euro). |

In 2006 household investment in CE products grew at twice GDP, and there is no sign of the consumer’s love of technological gadgetry slowing down. Growth leaders remain flat-screen TVs, which account for nearly a third of the total European CEM market – followed by games consoles and MP3 players. Demand for set-top boxes for digital TV reception won’t slow down whilst European governments threaten to claw back the terrestrial analogue networks and digital still cameras and DVD players/recorders remain high on consumers’ wish lists. |
